David, are you talking about the old original Xbox games? If so, there is no longer Xbox LIVE support for original Xbox games: http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/xboxlive/v1gamesfaq.aspx. You can still play them offline but not with any of the Xbox LIVE-supported features (leaderboards, etc.).
