Install Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008

This topic contains the steps that you must follow to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1, or Visual Studio 2008. All Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008 product editions are compatible with Commerce Server 2007.

To install Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008

  1. Insert the Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008 CD in the CD drive. If the CD does not start automatically, double-click Autorun.exe in the root directory of the CD.

  2. On the Visual Studio Setup splash screen, click Install Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008.

  3. After the setup files have loaded, click Next.

  4. Select the option I accept the terms of the License Agreement, type the product key and your name, and then click Next.

  5. Under the Features to Install list, click Custom, and then click Next.

  6. Under the Select Feature to Install list, clear the check box next to Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition, and then click Install. Click Finish when setup is complete.

To install Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1

  2. Follow the online instructions to download the Service Pack.
