    Hi Ricardo,

I am so glad that your problem is solved.

Thank you for sharing the solution, you have done a great job, and this will help many more people who are experiencing such problems.

Uninstall the "Realtek(R) Audio" driver and the system will automatically reinstall it for you after a reboot.

We value your feedback, click Yes or No to help us improve the support experience.

Good news, i fixed the issue (temporally atleast).

HP Driver install dont fix the problem, also the Clear Read-Only method is too wacky.

In case more people still have this problem this can be a solution.

    1. Open Device Manager
    2. Open the section "Sound, video and game controllers"
    3. Find your used Audio Device, in my case "Realtek(R) Audio"
    4. Left Click on it and select Uninstall
    5. Once done, a confirmation text will appear, there you have to check up a box that says "Delete the driver software for this device"
    6. Uninstall the Device, this will restart your Laptop/PC

    And that was all.

Thanks for your help and time, Hahn.

    Greetings from Chile.

    Hi Ricardo,

Based on the information you have provided; I have found a number of HP communities experiencing similar problems like yours.

    You can try the following:

    1. Go to the official HP website to download the corresponding sound card driver.

Hello Hahn, thanks for your reply.

After a couple of attempts restarting the Audio services didnt work, also the system dont let me update to an older audio driver.

Also we installed the latest driver for this model at the HP Official website,

and only today just got a quality Windows update that did nothing really.

I reiterate, the system sound dont move any volume, only changes when i move the exact volume at the Sound Mixer Controls.

Thanks for taking the case, Hahn.

    Hi Ricardo,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

According to your description, you can try the following:

Press Windows Key + R and type services.msc, find Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder in the list of services, restart these two services and try to see the effect.

For the sound card driver, try installing an older version if it is currently the latest version.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely
