Microsoft App-V 5.1 and MDOP 2015 now available for download
We are pleased to announce the release of the newest version of the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack, MDOP 2015. It is now available for download for volume license customers, as well as via MSDN, with complete support for Windows 10. In addition to Win10 support, here are just a few of the additional enhancements available in the latest release:
- Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) 5.1 provides more advanced package editor capabilities, a new management console, improved App-V 4.0 package conversion, new support for multiple scripts per trigger, and more.
- Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring (MBAM) 2.5 SP1 adds support for custom pre-boot recovery message and URL (a new Windows 10 feature), encrypted hard drives, used space only encryption, new imaging scripts, importing volume recovery and TPM owner information from Active Directory, and more.
- Microsoft User Experience Virtualization (UE-V) 2.1 SP1 now roams network printers, adds awareness for cloud synchronization already being performed by Windows or Office 365, and roams taskbar settings between Windows 10 devices.
- Microsoft Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM) 4.0 SP3 adds PowerShell support to automate several administrative tasks that previously could only be done through the UI.
- Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolkit (DaRT) 10 adds supports the ADK for Windows 10 and Windows PE 10, enabling all existing DaRT features to work with Windows 10.

Is AlwaysOn HADR supported for App-V?
I've seen that SQL 2012 & 2014 are supported (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt346547.aspx) but no references on AlwaysON. Any idea? Also is there any referenced document that states the support. - Anonymous

5.0 SP3 HF2 from April this year fixed a problem that the App-V 5.0 client held a handle to the user profile that prevented the user profile service from deleting the profile when a user logged off.
But in 5.1 this problem is here again!?
Could you please check and integrate this patch also in 5.1? - Anonymous

I can confirm we have the same issue with 5.1. Profile cannot/is not deleted at log off. Please fix this asap! - Anonymous

Can also confirm that AppvClient.exe is holding file handles open to the User's VFS folder after log off, even with 5.1 HF1. - Anonymous

So... still no GUI available for download (5.1)? I like that the UI is separated... but come on... it's completely forgotten in this release? - Anonymous

I am told by the VLSC that the App-v v5.1 is not available for download on the VLSC website. I only see v 5.0 up to SP3. I do have verified active SA with Win 10 Enterprise. I was on phone for 3 hours but they say it was not released to them yet to be available for download. it is now 5/5/2016. Any idea when this will be available for download?
