Defining value

for_sale_signs We're trying to move house at the moment and in an uncertain market it's really hard to decide what to set as the asking price. We know what houses along our road have sold for and we can see what other houses are currently being marketed for, but there's a huge discrepancy between both the various prices and what's on offer. And if I had a pound for every time some well-meaning individual had told me "a house is only worth what someone else is prepared to pay" then we'd be cash buyers :-)

Assessing and comparing productivity suites (such as Microsoft Office) is similar in many ways. How do you balance the full range of what a product can do with what it costs and weigh up what you need now compared with what you'll need next month or next year? Do you pay more for the additional bedroom -- or product, or feature -- that might come in handy in the future?

I'd like to ask you directly what you think about the value of Microsoft Office in the UK. Please take this short survey and let me know your views. For every survey that's completed, we'll donate £1 to the NSPCC (up to a maximum of £2000), so you'll be helping a charity as well.
