Lumia Camera Beta – Help us verify latest features and fixes on the Lumia 930, 1520, Icon, 640, and 640 XL

Please note that Lumia Camera Beta is available for the Lumia 930, Lumia 830, Lumia 1520, Lumia Icon, Lumia 640, and Lumia 640 XL and requires the Lumia Denim update.

 

We have released a new version of  Lumia Camera Beta with some experimental features. Let us know what you think about it.

If you have a compatible device, we welcome you to join us in testing the beta release.  There could still be bugs, though, so please help us by reporting any issues on the forum or by using the Feedback section in the app.

 

Lumia Camera Beta release (v5.45.6000.0) includes

• Living images are automatically only captured for scenes with motion
• Updated capture and autofocus behavior
• General fixes and improvements.

The first Lumia Camera Beta release (v5.21.0.0) includes:

• Access to Office Lens from settings menu
• Pro settings remembered after restarting the app
• General performance improvements and bug fixes

  I installed it on my Lumia 1520 running Developer Preview of WP10. On launching the app it throws an error - Update Your Phone. Lumia Camera requires the Lumia Denim Software Update. Your phone automatically notifies when it's available. ............

  @NikhilChawla - Can you check what OS version, Branch, and FW version you have?   You can find those from the Windows Insider app under the About section. When you have that info please create a report here with those details: https://lumiabetaapps.uservoice.com/forums/282467-lumia-camera-beta That's the best way for the team to review the issues and for others to vote/comment if they see the same thing.

  Are you guys going to address (or at least acknowledge) the bug that introduces huge amounts of lag to the accelerometer after opening the camera app?  I thought this beta had fixed it but after a day it came back. I have an AT&T 1520 with the latest publically available OS revision and Denim.

  Would love to.  Just send me a 640 XL since the US isn't going to ever be getting them it seems.

  Why isn't it available for Lumia 830? Owners of Lumia 830, 930 and 1520 use all the same stable version of Lumia Camera.

  It takes sharpest pictures in windows 10. The best camera application what I was looking for. But unfortunately still windows 10 is not usable for heavy workload. Am using 8.1 and missing this application. This is only thing best in windows 10. Others are quite good in 8.1.

  Good update/s, but still need more fixes. Capture behavior may not need a short preview; a screen "blink" will do without a preview, thereby faster capture speeds. Color algorithms really, really needed a serious overhaul: too much saturation, colors are unnatural, white balance is still not right, and front-facing camera is really terrible.

  Hi. In the lastest update the pictures I took with my Lumia 830 running Windows 10 Mobile Build 10166 did not contain GPS info. I tested this with Windows Camera and works well. Was this fixed in this version? GPS info is pretty important to me.
