Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit Extender

I have written an extender to the Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit here:

https://dbspider.codeplex.com/

The project is a Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit Extender that leverages:

  • The Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit (MAP)
  • SQL Server 2008 R2
  • The .NET 2.0 Framework
  • C# Sql Server Management Objects
  • Optionally PowerPivot
  • Telerik WPF Controls

The goals of the MAP Extender is to:
-Determine all SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 Instances, Databases, Tables, Indexes and Users over time

  • -Help with Capacity Planning and Growth
  • -Help with Consolidation Efforts
  • -Help understand the potential cost and infrastructure savings of SQL Server 2008 Compression

The tool will not work correctly with SQL 2008 SP1 (it breaks SMO) unless you install this update:
