Unable to attach database to MOSS/WSS with GroupBoard Workspace template

Symptoms

  • While trying to attach a database using the stsadm -o addcontentdb -url
    <URl> -databasename <filename>     with Groupboard
    Workspace     installed on SharePoint farm we get the following error
    message :

"The specified SPContentDatabase Name= <Content Database name>
Parent=SPDatabaseServiceInstance has been upgraded to a newer version of
SharePoint. Please upgrade this SharePoint application server before attempting
to access this object."

  • And while trying to run the  psconfig -cmd
    upgrade -inplace b2b -wait -force  we get the following error messages in
    the Upgrade.log

 

"ERR            Task upgradebootstrap has failed with an unknown exception
"

"ERR            Exception: Microsoft.SharePoint.Upgrade.SPUpgradeException:
The specified SPContentDatabase Name= <Admin Content Database name>
Parent=SPDatabaseServiceInstance has been upgraded to a newer version of
SharePoint. Please upgrade this SharePoint application server before attempting
to access this object.

Microsoft.SharePoint.PostSetupConfiguration.TaskThread.ExecuteTask()"

Resolution

        Try either one of the following :

  • Go to Add/Remove Program
  • Uninstall the Microsoft Groupboard Workspace 2007
  • Attach the database using the stsadm command
  • Then install the Microsoft Groupboard Workspace 2007

( OR )

Install the following patches for Groupboard Workspace template :

Update for GroupBoard Workspace 2007 x86 versions
