Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) v6.0.1 is now available

Microsoft has released an update to SSMA 6.0 for Oracle, DB2, Sybase ASE, MySQL and Access. SSMA simplifies the database migration process by automating all aspects of migration including migration assessment analysis, schema conversion, SQL statement conversion and data migration. SSMA also includes migration testing to reduce the cost and risk of database migrations.

Version 6.01 of SSMA includes the following enhancements:

  • SSMA for Oracle.
    • Added support for clustered indexes.
    • Fixed performance with querying Oracle schema. 
    • Fixed issues when setting up a connection to Azure from the console.
  • SSMA for DB2.
    • Fixed support for DB2 v9 zOS.
    • Added support for more standard functions.
    • Fixed issues when setting up a connection to Azure from the console.
  • SSMA for MySQL.
    • Updated driver support now includes newer versions of the ODBC driver greater than v5.1.
  • SSMA for Access.
    • Fixed handing of fields with a GUID datatype and a default function.
    • Fixed issues importing records into an Azure SQL Database.
  • New command in the menu to view the SSMA log file.
    • This provides an easy way to get to the log file to help diagnose any issues that come up when using SSMA.

    Hello, thank You for new version of SSMA, but I've now problem with linking tables from Access with all versions of SSMA. I want to migrate Access database to SQL Azure. Each time I've got error - "for your link tables to work with sql azure, you need to install a newer SNAC provider. For more information click" https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16978 I've installed many verions of Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 Native Client, but without success. I've installed now the newest packages for SQL Server 2008 R2 (2009.100.6542.0) and 2012 (2011.110.6523.0). I"ve also installed 6.01.7601.17514. Please help:)

    Greetings, Why is the installer, SSMA for Access.6.0.1.exe, requiring .NET Framework v2.0 when the requirements on the download page lists "Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.0 or a later version"? I have .NET Framework 4.5.2 and 4.6.1 already installed. Thanks,

      This should be resolved with SSMA 7.0

    Can someone provide me with the costs of the SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) tool for for DB2 and Oracle.What is requierd for setup?Thanks

    All the download links are dead here, and the links on https://aka.ms/ssmahelp are dead too.Can you please provide updated links to SSMA for Access ?

      I am not sure what the issue was when you tried to follow the links. As of this morning the links appear to be working. The link for SSMA For Access is SSMA For Access 7.0.

    My ACCESS 2013 is 32 bit, SQL Server is 64 bit. From what I have read I need to run the SSMA for 32 bit but I have re-installed it a few times and I am not getting the 32 bit exe. please advise! Thank you
