Hide User Folder on Save as Dialog Box

To hide user folder on save as dialog box, perform the following steps:

Note: Please backup the Registry first.

 

1. Click Start, type in regedit.exe in Search box and press enter. If you are prompted by UAC, just click on Yes.

 

2. In Registry Editor, Locate the following registry subkey:

 

    If your system is Windows 7 32bit, navigate to

 

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5 5595fe6b30ee}\ShellFolder

 

    If your system is Windows 7 64bit, navigate to

 

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Classes\CLSID\{59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee}\ShellFolder

 

3. Right click on the ShellFolder key, select Permissions and give Administrators group Full Control permission and click OK.

 

4. In the right pane of Registry Editor, right click on Attributes and click on Modify. The default value is f084012d, change it to f094012d.

 

5. Exit Registry Editor.

    Unfortunately I can't revert to the previous setting. Setting the Attributes Key back to original value does not make the user folder show up again. Strange! Any suggestions?

    instead of educated idiots that try to prove how smart they are by making everything complicated whilst actually really proving how brain dead they are. It's what happens when one educates idiots. Billions of man hours could be saved per year if they schools adopted the kiss principal. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!
