Automatic account type selection (form)

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Use this form to define the criteria for automatically selecting a main account type according to the first character that you enter for a main account.

For example, if all of the revenue accounts start with 4, you could enter 4 in the First character field and select Revenue in the Main account type field.

Open the form

1. Click General ledger > Reports > Base data > Chart of accounts.

2. Select a chart of accounts.

3. On the Main accounts FastTab, click Automatic account type selection.

Navigating the form

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

Fields

Field	Description
Chart of accounts	Select the chart of accounts to set up automatic account type selection for.
First character	Enter the first character of the main account for the automatic selection of the main account type. For example, if all of the revenue accounts start with 4, you could enter 4 and select Revenue in the Main account type field.
Main account type	Select a main account type for the character from the following options: Profit and loss Revenue Expense Balance sheet Asset Liability Equity Total Reporting
Reporting type	If you selected Reporting in the Main account type field, select one of the types of reporting. Header – Print account information at the top of the financial statement. Empty header – Print an empty row at the top of the financial statement. Page header – Print account information at the top of each page of the financial statement.
