Journal lines for fees (form)
Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
Click Project management and accounting > Journals > Fee. On the menu bar, click Lines.
Use this form to enter fee transactions. Fee transactions are applied when costs cannot be directly matched with the associated revenue. Costs are posted as hours spent with a non-chargeable line property.
For example, if the course fees paid by participants in a course cannot be matched directly with the hours registered by the instructor, they can be entered as fee transactions.
The transaction fee can only be used for Time and material projects, and is used to invoice a fixed fee for a short term project.
To post a revenue fee for a long term Fixed-price project, use the on-account transaction for external invoicing and the estimate system to create internal fees in order to recognize revenue.
