Party (form)

Click Home > Common > Global address book. On the Global address book list page, double-click an address record in the list or, on the Action Pane, on the Global address book tab, in the New group, click Party.
Use this form to enter or view information about a party.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Fields
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Record type |
The type of party record. The record type can represent either a person or an organization. |
Search name |
The name that is used to search for the party record. |
Display as |
The sequence in which you want the person's name to be displayed. For example, Last, First, Middle. This field is available only if the party record represents a person. |
Number of employees |
The number of employees in the organization. This field is available only if the party record represents an organization. |
Organization number |
The organization number that is assigned to the organization. This field is available only if the party record represents an organization. |
ABC code |
Select the ABC code. You can use this field to categorize parties. Your organization can determine the categories. This field is available only if the party record represents an organization. |
DUNS number |
The Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number that is assigned to the organization. This number is unique to the organization. This field is available only if the party record represents an organization. |
Address books |
The address books that the party record is shared into. |
Known as |
An alternate name or nickname for the party record. |
Phonetic name |
Enter the phonetic spelling of the name for the party record. If you are viewing a party record that represents a person, you can enter the phonetic spelling of the person's first, middle, and last names. |
Language |
The party's preferred language. |
Name or description |
The name or a brief description of the address record. |
Address |
View the formatted information for the selected address. This is the address that will appear on a printed document. The original address record may contain information that is not included in this view, depending on the specific country/region format. |
Purpose |
View the purpose of the selected address. For example, the address may be used for deliveries only, or for deliveries and services. |
Primary |
View whether the address is primary. A primary address is the principal postal address for the selected party. A primary address can also be the default address for the party. |
(Contact information) Name or description |
The name or a brief description of the contact information record. |
Type |
The type of contact information. For example, URL, e-mail address, or fax number. |
Contact number/address |
The number or address that corresponds to the type of contact information. |
Extension |
The telephone extension of the contact information record, if there is a telephone extension. |
Primary |
If this check box is selected, the contact information is primary. Primary contact information is the principal form of communication for the selected party. To select or clear this check box, click More options and then select Advanced. |
Expired |
If this check box is selected, all expired relationships are displayed. |
Active |
If this check box is selected, all active relationships are displayed. |
Future |
If this check box is selected, all planned or future relationships that have been created are displayed. |
ID |
The identifier of the party type. For example, vendor or customer. |
Party A |
The record name of party A. |
Relationship A to B |
The relationship between party A and party B. |
Party B |
The record name of party B. |
Effective: |
The date that the relationship started. |
Expiration: |
The date that the relationship ends. |
