Virtual company accounts (form)
Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
Click System administration > Setup > Virtual company accounts.
Use this form to view and create virtual company accounts.
Much of the data in Microsoft Dynamics AX is company-specific and is associated with a single company, or DataAreaId. Users can access data only for the company that they are currently logged on to. To share data among company accounts, you must create virtual company accounts.
Important
In this release of Microsoft Dynamics AX, the data in some tables is organization-wide. By default, organization-wide data is available to all organizations. If you used virtual companies in a previous release, you can continue to use them. However, before you create new virtual companies for data sharing, we recommend that you verify whether the data that you want to share is already organization-wide. For more information, see About organizations and organizational hierarchies.
If you are using Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 or AX 2012 R2, company accounts and virtual company accounts must be configured in each partition.
