What's new in Fundraising and Engagement June 25, 2024

Microsoft Tech for Social Impact is proud to announce the June 25, 2024 release of Fundraising and Engagement. This release brings significant enhancements mainly to nonprofit gift processors.

New features

This release of Fundraising and Engagement includes the following new capabilities:

Upgraded batch gift entry: This update introduces a new frontend and backend experience for batch gift entry, a feature that allows gift processors to enter many gifts into Fundraising and Engagement in quick procession. You can find the updated documentation here: Create gift batches.

Batch gift entry now provides a single page experience that guides gift processors through gift batch creation with well-defined intuitive behavior. Gift batches now include Draft, In progress, Processing, and Completed stages to walk gift processors through the Batch Gift Entry process step by step. You can now use dynamic lookup fields and advanced donor search to quickly find existing donors or create new donors in your batch. You can also add the full set of donor and transaction fields that are available in the nonprofit data model to your batch transactions.

We rearchitected and redesigned batch gift entry to use only platform components, making customization easy. A batch gift configuration feature allows you to create your own batch types. These batch types are templates for default fields, default values, and the fields that appear for new transactions.

If your system isn't updated, you can refer to the deprecated documentation for gift batch entry at Create gift batches (deprecated).

Important

Fundraising and Engagement is comprised of Dynamics 365 and Azure services. We highly recommend that nonprofit organizations and partners upgrade both the Fundraising and Engagement Dynamics 365 solution and Azure services to version 2.5.3.0 to take advantage of the latest improvements.

Users with access to Fundraising and Engagement may work with sensitive data. We recommend that administrators and users enable multi-factor authentication to increase the security of their environment.
