Version 2.26.139.22312 updates

New Features

  • A new home page has been added to the console of Power Automate for desktop, where new users are guided on the first steps of their RPA experience, while existing users can find popular and useful resources.

  • Users can now ask for a new trial or trial extension, or a license purchase/renewal directly through Power Automate for desktop, via submitting a request to their administrator.

  • Warnings are now supported in Power Automate for desktop, via the errors pane which has been enhanced accordingly, as well as via a proper banner in the action modals.

  • More SharePoint connector actions are now available to be used (in preview) in Power Automate for desktop:

    • Get file content
    • Get all lists and libraries
    • Get file metadata
    • Get folder metadata
    • List root folder
    • Extract folder
    • Get lists
  • The reliability of the captured UI elements has been improved in the following ways:

    • Ordinal is only used in the final element of the web or desktop selector.
    • A selector validator applies behind the scenes, confirming that the captured element's selector will find the same element when used at runtime. The validation is being performed at the moment of the capturing.
    • In case the selector proves invalid in the above scenario, a selector optimizer takes place, trying to automatically fix the selector at the moment of the capturing, by ignoring elements from the top level and continuing until the element is identified by the new selector in the process.

Enhancements & Improvements

  • The performance of the flow designer while handling (e.g., selecting, deleting, copying and pasting etc.) hundreds or thousands of actions in a flow has been further improved.

  • The initial loading time needed to launch the console has been reduced.

  • The time needed to run, create or edit a flow has been reduced after removing some duplicate background calls.

  • Flow control has been added as a new category with built-in examples in the console.

  • Fields with dynamic values in cloud connector actions, like the ‘Site Address’ in SharePoint actions, have been enhanced with a search field in the dropdown menu.

  • New connection references for cloud connector actions can now be created through the designer, based on existing or new connections.

  • If the errors pane has been minimized by the user while one or more errors exist, it now stays minimized as long as the list of errors remains the same, rather than auto-expanding in every new action.

  • The UI of the flow designer during saving has been slightly adjusted, so that the saving status becomes more visible.

  • Actions that need to dynamically load their properties, like ‘Run desktop flow’ and the SharePoint ones, now come with the Save button disabled during loading to avoid potential loss of work.

Repaired Functionality

The following list details issues in Power Automate for desktop that are now resolved:

  • The unhandled error which occurred for some flows, when the flow designer was opened with the variables missing, has been resolved.

  • Switching tabs in the console has been further improved to be more responsive.

  • The status of a desktop flow in the console is now reset as expected, when the user cancels its execution, triggered via a desktop shortcut, while being prompted for the flow inputs.

  • The creation of desktop shortcuts for flows no longer fails when the user has a file without extension on their desktop.

  • The ‘Loop’ action no longer throws out false positive validation errors when negative numeric values are used in its parameters.

  • Adding more columns in the table editor of the ‘Create new data table’ action now works instantly as expected.

  • Trying to save a flow through the designer, after deleting a linked child flow, now returns the appropriate error message.

  • Invalid characters that are used in the column names of datatable editors, both for input variables and the ‘Create new data table’ action, are now handled more gracefully.

  • Searching for a module name in the actions pane search field and deleting character to character does not affect anymore the default sorting order of the modules.

  • Some issues that occurred when the case of a variable name was changed via the action modal that produced it, have now been resolved.

  • The issue with an empty space appearing at the top of the actions list, after removing a search keyword, has now been resolved.

  • An issue with the flow hanging, when it ran from the console and the user clicked on Pause, has been resolved.

  • The recorder now produces the ‘Set check box state’ action in all cases in web automation, when interacting with check boxes in a web page, instead of the ‘Click link on web page’ action.

  • An issue that occurred when focusing an element or sending keys to a specific element in Java applications has now been resolved.

  • Context menus that are opened during recording now close as expected, when the parent window is dragged or moved.

  • Switching between different tabs in a browser in a recorded flow now works as expected during runtime.

  • Screenshots are now captured properly for UI elements that are recaptured and renamed during recording.

  • Window related actions like Close window or Focus window now work properly with SAP or Java elements.

  • The recorder’s highlighter text is now adjusted to always have the proper font size.
