Installer version 2.42.317.24061 - Microsoft Store version 11.2403.237.0 updates

New Features

  • An enhanced variable picker is now available, providing filtering and sorting capabilities that allow for more intuitive selection of variables in the respective actions. In addition, for Power Fx enabled desktop flows, there’s also a new function picker that allows for scrolling through a list of Power Fx functions, providing a quick overview of the full list of available functions.

  • Power Fx enabled desktop flows now offer IntelliSense capabilities, including syntax colorization, real-time suggestions and autocomplete functionality, as well as function signature helpers.

  • Minimum execution logs for desktop flows are now also supported for runs initiated via the cloud, via the same registry key that only handled console runs so far.

  • When running flows via their Run URL, another parameter is now available for users, so that they can sign in with their current Windows account.

  • A new Excel action called ‘Clear cells in Excel worksheet’ has now been introduced, allowing users to clear the values of the specified range.

Enhancements & Improvements

  • A parent desktop flow can now invoke up to 150 child flows, increasing the respective limit from the 30 flows that applied until now.

  • New error messages are now available for work queue actions, to indicate the new statuses of inactive and paused work queues when applicable.

  • New actionable error messages are now available for the web browser launching actions, in case they fail to run.

  • New actionable error messages are now available for image recognition actions, in case the image is not found.

  • A toggle option to ‘Save as draft’ has now been introduced as a new parameter to the action ‘Send email message through Outlook’.

  • A new toggle parameter called ‘Move mouse to hover’ has been added to the action ‘Hover mouse over element on web page’, to specify if a physical mouse move is needed.

Repaired Functionality

The following list details issues in Power Automate for desktop that are now resolved:

  • An issue occurring, after creating a new connection to use it in a shared flow and run it, has now been resolved.

  • The text used in the ‘Log message’ action is now localized properly as expected.

  • Pressing the Esc button, after maximizing the reference screenshot of a UI element, now minimizes the screenshot rather than collapsing the whole UI elements pane.

  • A few issues with the ‘Create HTML content’ action are now resolved, including showing properly all the font names and normally propagating potential errors into the editor.

  • In Power Fx flows, using the ‘Stop flow’ action no longer generates a validation error.

  • Changing the default value of an optional, Boolean input variable from True to False now doesn’t mistakenly set it as Blank.

  • An issue occurring with the summary of a Set variable action, which creates a datatable that uses a variable in a row, has now been resolved.

  • In the action ‘Take screenshot of UI element’, some unsupported file formats have been removed from the available list.

  • The action ‘Take screenshot of web page’ now works properly, when the page is in quirks mode and has framesets.

  • In the default context menu of Windows 11, the options that are recorded to be clicked now run properly during runtime.

  • In SAP GUI, when populating a text field through the recorder, the provided text is now properly added from the modal to the text field.

  • An issue occurring when using the action ‘Launch SAP’ has now been resolved.

  • An issue with a previously recorded right click being removed, after adding another action through the recorder, has now been resolved.

  • The troubleshooter now properly includes any erroneous RDP/Citrix clients in the respective list, after running the UI/Web automation category.

  • An issue with the application crashing, when a UI element was captured or interacted with during runtime on certain desktop applications, has now been fixed.

  • The extraction of a table from the web no longer fails, when a new column is added to that table in the web page.

  • The installer version addresses a possible security vulnerability. You can read more here.
