Trailing Sales Orders Window

Graphically displays sales orders that are not fully posted. The sales orders are sorted backward on a timeline and shown in periods by different relations to today’s date.

The timeline on the X-axis is divided in five period stacks, which each show the sum of orders until the last day of the period. The difference between two adjoining period stacks reflects the change in the sum of orders from one period to the next. For example, you can change the period length from Day to Week to see orders with document dates five weeks back instead of five days back.

Note

Data in the chart is based on the Document Date field of the orders, which is the date on which the order was created. However, when you select the Delayed Orders view, the data is filtered by the Shipment Date field on the orders.

When you click a stack in the chart, the Sales Orders window opens and shows not fully posted sales orders with document dates in the selected period and with order status that relate to where on the stack you clicked. Each order status is represented by a color on the stack.

You define how trailing sales order numbers are displayed in the chart by selecting among the following options from the menus above the chart.

To provide a true representation of today’s data, the last stack ends on today’s date even if today’s date is in the middle of the selected period.
