Event Trace Log (ETL) files are binary files containing detailed data captured during call sessions that can be used for analyzing and tuning voice response applications. Speech Server captures data based on settings that can be configured using the Speech Server??Administrator console or by accessing the WMI properties using scripts or tools. By default, ETL files are written to the Logs directory in the Speech Server installation directory. ETL files contain raw call data and are imported into the tuning database, which is the centerpiece of Analytics and Tuning Studio.
To work with ETL files, use one of the following Speech Server tools:
- MSSLogToDatabase.exe - Extracts call data from an ETL file and loads it into a Microsoft SQL Server database where it can be analyzed using the Analytics and Tuning Studio. For more information, see Import Log Files into the Tuning Database.
- MSSLogToText.exe - Converts an ETL file to a text file. For more information, see Log File Conversion to Text.
