This glossary defines key terms that are used in the Help for Domain-Specific Language Tools.

  • element merge directive
    A setting that defines how an element or group of elements should be combined with another by creating links between them. You can use an element merge directive when you drag an item from the Toolbox or in a paste operation. You can configure element merge directives in the DSL Details window.

  • embedding relationship
    A domain relationship in which the links form a tree of paths by which each object can be uniquely identified.

  • experimental build
    A separate instance of Visual Studio that is stored in a special registry hive so that developers can to easily and consistently debug and deploy solutions in an isolated work environment.
