Getting the client software

To set up your client computer to connect to Remote Desktop for Administration, you need the following:

  • Access to the remote computer (the computer running a Windows Server 2003 family operating system) by means of Local Area Network (LAN), modem, or Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection.

  • Remote Desktop Connection or Terminal Services client installed on the client computer. See the following table for instructions on installing the client software for your operating system.

    Important

    • You should install the latest version of Remote Desktop Connection. If you are using the Windows 2000 32-bit Terminal Services Client, you should upgrade to the version of Remote Desktop Connection that is provided with all Windows Server 2003 family operating systems.
