Configure DTC Logging
Applies To: Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012
You can configure the location and size of the Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) log file.
Warning
If you change the size of the DTC log file, the current log file is destroyed and a new log file is created. Before you alter the log file, verify that the existing log file can be deleted safely by ensuring that there are no transactions in the In Doubt, Cannot Notify Abort, or Cannot Notify Commit state. For more information about managing DTC log files, see DTC Log File Management (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=66753).
Important
Before you configure the log file, stop the DTC in the Services snap-in. If you do not stop the DTC, your attempt to reset the log file generates a DTC console message indicating that the DTC service needs to be stopped and restarted to perform the requested action.
Membership in Administrators , or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.
