Hi,
I am trying to use the Document Intelligence Python API to extract the content from a PDF file. I followed the step by step guide provided by Azure (here: https://learn.microsoft.com/es-es/azure/ai-services/document-intelligence/quickstarts/get-started-sdks-rest-api?view=doc-intel-4.0.0&pivots=programming-language-python), installing packages, copying api key and endpoint from the right location and resource but I am unable to get make the script work.
I even tried with the example Azure provides (here: https://github.com/Azure-Samples/document-intelligence-code-samples/blob/main/Python(v4.0)/Layout_model/sample_analyze_layout.py) with sample-layout pdf from Azure github and still I get the error:
azure.core.exceptions.ResourceNotFoundError: (404) Resource not found
Code: 404
Message: Resource not found
If someone knows how to solve this issue please I appreciate the help a lot!

The 404 Resource Not Found error you're encountering with Azure Document Intelligence occurs when the service cannot locate the requested endpoint or due to incorrect configuration rather than actual resource absence. This error commonly appears when attempting to extract content from PDF files using the Document Intelligence API, particularly when working with endpoints outside supported regions or when authentication credentials aren't properly configured.
For that you need to verify that your Document Intelligence resource is created in one of the currently supported regions - East US, West US2, or West Europe. Document intelligence
Meanwhile ensure your endpoint URL follows the exact format required by Azure, typically ending in .cogitiveservices.azure.com/ without any trailing slashes, and double-check that your API key is copied exactly as shown in the Azure Portal without any extra spaces or characters and also verify that your document path is correct and accessible, and consider testing with Azure Document Studio first to confirm basic connectivity works before attempting programmatic access.

One more question, I observed that is only extracting 2 pages from the PDF, I tried to modify the pages parameter on 'begin_analyze_document' method to a string range like 1-10 but it's not working. What's the correct format to specify a range of pages?

When extracting specific pages from a PDF using the 'begin_analyze_document' method, first need to check whether the pages parameter is correctly format or not i.e.,"1-10" for consecutive, "1,3,5,7-10" for non-consecutive pages and verify your PDF has the expected number of pages.

Gotcha, I see our Document Intelligence service is located in Sweden Central. Is it possible to move the location or we have to create a new resource for the right loccation?

Azure does not support directly moving a Document Intelligence resource from one region to another. Instead, you'll need to create a new resource in a supported region and manually migrate your configurations. Set up a new Document Intelligence resource in East US, West US2, or West Europe.

If you have custom models, use the Copy Model API to transfer them to your new resource. Then update your application with the new endpoint and API key. Finally, test everything using Azure Document Intelligence Studio before deploying.
