What is a Catalog Expression?

For the latest version of Commerce Server 2007 Help, see the Microsoft Web site.

Catalog expressions define the categories, products, or product properties to which you apply your discounts. For example, a catalog expression might be "Books with a price greater than 20.00" or "Get 10% off of books with a price greater than 20.00". If the expression evaluates to "True," Commerce Server applies the discount to the product or category. After you create the catalog expression, you can target your discounts to those products that match your catalog expression criteria.

You cannot associate catalog expressions with advertisements. You can only associate catalog expressions with discounts that have the "buy" or "get" condition.
