Text.IndexOf(Text [, Integer]) Method

Reports the one-based index of the first occurrence of the specified string in this instance.

Syntax

Index :=   Text.IndexOf(Value: Text [, StartIndex: Integer])

Note

This method can be invoked without specifying the data type name.

Parameters

Text
 Type: Text
An instance of the Text data type.

Value
 Type: Text
The string to seek.

[Optional] StartIndex
 Type: Integer
The one-based search starting position.

Return Value

Index
 Type: Integer
The one-based index of the first occurrence of the specified string in this instance. If the index returned is 0, the value is not present in the string.
