How to Configure BizTalk Server 2006

This topic shows you how to configure BizTalk Server 2006 by using the BizTalk Server 2006 Configuration Wizard. This wizard starts automatically after the BizTalk Server 2006 Setup Wizard finishes.

To configure BizTalk Server 2006

  1. On the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 Configuration start page, make sure that Custom Configuration is selected.

  2. In the Database section, make sure that the name of the computer where SQL Server is installed is listed.

  3. In the Service Credential section, in the User name box, type the user name for the account that the BizTalk services will run under.

  4. In the Service Credential section, in the Password box, type the password for the account you specified, and then click Configure.

    Note

    You may receive a warning if you type a user name with Administrative permissions on this computer. Click OK to continue.

  5. In the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 Configuration dialog box, in the left pane, click Enterprise SSO.

  6. In the right pane, select Enable Enterprise Single Sign-on on this computer, and then click Create a new SSO system.

  7. In the Data Stores section, type the server name, in the Windows accounts section, add the <domain>\BizTalkAdmin group to the SSO Administrator(s) and SSO Affiliate Administrator(s) roles.

  8. In the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 Configuration dialog box, in the left pane, click Enterprise SSO Secret Backup.

  9. In the right pane, do the following:

    Use this

    To do this

    Secret backup password

    Type a password for the backup file.

    Confirm password

    Confirm the password for the backup file.

    Password reminder

    Type a reminder for the password you enter.

    Backup file location

    Type a file name and file path of the secret backup file. By default, it is located at <drive>:\Program Files\Common Files\Enterprise Single Sign-On.

  10. In the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 Configuration dialog box, in the left pane, click Group.

  11. In the right pane, select Enable BizTalk Server Group on this computer, and then click Create a new BizTalk Group.

  12. In the BizTalk Administrative Roles section, add the <domain>\BizTalkAdmin group to the BizTalk Administrators Group and BizTalk Operators Group roles.

  13. In the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 Configuration dialog box, in the left pane, click BizTalk Runtime.

  14. In the right pane, select Register the BizTalk Server runtime components, and then click Create In-Process Host and Instance.

  15. Click Create Isolated Host and Instance.

  16. In the Windows Groups section, add the <domain>\BizTalkAdmin group to the BizTalk Host Users Group and BizTalk Isolated Host Users Group groups.

  17. In the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 Configuration dialog box, click Apply Configuration.

  18. On the Summary page, review the configuration about to be performed, and then click Next.

  19. On the Completion page, click Finish.

    Note

    If you have an anti-spy ware software package installed, you can safely ignore the security level warning during the configuration of the BAS site.
