iPhone User Experience - A Girlie Perspective

Lots of people have been talking about iPhone this morning - including Shane.

My immediate reaction was that wow - now here is a worthy competition in the mobile phone/PDA market, with excellent user experience design.

And then, I remembered why I gave up on my XDA – the big hot screen made my face/ear sweat, and took away my make up!!

Sorry for the extremely girlie UX perspective :-)

Ah, but the iPhone has a proximity sensor which will turn the screen off when you put it next to your ear!

Actually, it turns it off just to prevent you from pushing an unwanted button. Your face will still make contact with the glass. The solution is to get a shorter phone like the candy bars or the XDA II minis. I suspect this is reason why clamshells are very popular in Asia among women since the curve leaves a little gap between face and screen.
