Team Microsoft Prepares for Bike MS: Cox Atlanta Ride
Summer is here, which means it is time for Atlanta’s “Team Microsoft” to start preparing for the Bike MS: Cox Atlanta Ride on September 15th and 16th at Callaway Gardens. The Bike MS: Cox Atlanta Ride is a two-day ride that
benefits the Georgia Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and its mission to create a world free of MS.
Multiple sclerosis is a life-long chronic disease of the central nervous system. It affects mainly young women (ages 20 to 50) and is an unpredictable condition that can range from being relatively benign to being totally disabling. The Multiple Sclerosis Chapter of Georgia hosts this annual event as their main fund raising initiative of the year with the explicit goal of helping families in and around the state, and this marks the fourth year we will participate as team Microsoft.
Last year the Microsoft team had 26 riders and volunteers who participated and as a group, raising more than $20,000! This year we are challenging ourselves to recruit additional riders and/or volunteers with a team goal to raise more than $22,000.
Cyclists start and finish both days of the ride at Callaway Gardens. The routes traverse the beautiful Georgia countryside with figure-eight lengths of approximately 35-mile, 65-mile and 100-mile options on Day One and 25-mile and 65-mile options on Day Two.
This event is a great way for the community to come together and make a difference! For more information on the race and how you can start your own team and get involved as a rider or a volunteer, visit theNational Multiple Sclerosis Society’s webpage.
