FAQ from the TechNet Roadshow 2008

We are now just over halfway through the 2008 Launch Roadshow and, as per last time, we have been taking questions via text messages from attendees in the audience. It has been interesting to see a few popular questions repeated over the three events, so I thought I would share these, and the answers, with you:

1) Will there by an SBS version of Windows Server 2008, when will it be here and what's in it?
Windows Small Business Server 2008 is an all-in-one server solution recommended for organisations with up to 50 PCs. It provides many of the features used by larger companies, such as email, Internet connectivity, internal web sites, remote access, support for mobile devices, file and printer sharing, backup and restore - all at one affordable price. Windows Small Business Server 2008 will become available in the second half of 2008.
There is also Windows Essential Business Server 2008 which is a new, integrated multi-server solution designed for medium-sized businesses with between 50 and 250 PCs. Powered by the new Windows Server 2008 Operating System, Windows Essential Business Server 2008 combines software for management, messaging and security features into one integrated server solution. It is due in the second half of 2008.

2) Terminal Services: there were a lot of questions about RemoteApp & TS Web Access

3) Read-only Domain Controllers (RODC): with a RODC how do you reset a user's password if a network link is down?
The answer to this is you don't until it connects back to the network. See the full FAQ for RODC.

4) What is the impact on licensing when using virtual machines with Windows Server 2008?
