IOT: Windows 10 for Embedded IOT
If you are reading this much after 2/9/2015 or so, it is out of date.
Windows 10 for Embedded IOT. Ok, this is just some links I read today. And really I was dreaming before Windows 10 came out, but from what I am hearing is this is the first O/S with the idea that you won’t have disruptive changes as in the past when the O/S went from one number to the next.
The best source for information on Windows 10 appears to be…well you will need to wait a little while for it. I would order the correct Raspberry Pi 2 and play with it.
How about the external blogs and news sites as of 2/2/2015:
- Nadella says Windows 10 will tie everything together in
- Microsoft To Offer Windows 10 Free To Raspberry Pi Devs
- Developers- Discover how Windows 10 empowers your apps
- Windows 10 is empowering developers to dream again

Thank you IoTGirl! The links are informative and useful. I think the confusion for many people is that in the past the IoT type of work was accomplished by a separate tool like Windows CE, but this has all changed! Now you can design once for many platforms, really, of course your display will vary and there are ways to handle that. Also Windows 10 does support headless devices quite nicely.Anonymous

Just incase anyone finds this blog post. There are two versions of Windows IoT. Windows 10 IoT Core -https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/iot, and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise (aka Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB)
