VSDB @ PDC2008
If you happen to go to PDC this year, you might want to check out session TL45, "Microsoft Visual Studio Team System Database Edition: Overview".
The title might not sounds that interesting but this session will be 100% dedicated to the Visual Studio Team System 2008 Database Edition GDR release and the extensibility abilities.
We will go over the all architectural changes; how Database Schema Providers (DSPs) make this a truly heterogeneous declarative database development environment and then we will dive in to building extensions. I will show two examples: how to build a static code analysis rule and how to build your own refactoring type. I will will top it off by showing you how to the deployment engine can get integrated into an MSI installer and how to achieve thumb-drive deployment.
I hope you can join be at PDC, for those of you who will not be able to come, don't worry, we will record the session and post it after the conference.
