Internal Readiness for SharePoint
I've recently been on a tour of customers in Adelaide. A common subject that has come up is about internal readiness for SharePoint in an organisation. How does a company prepare the people for the SharePoint site.
A couple of useful tools you can download to assist are Gear Up and the Internal Buzz Kit.
Gear Up
With a methodical approach, actionable tactical recommendations, and sample starter materials, the tool also will help customers through the complex challenges in stimulating both technology adoption and change management. A set of material available online to help with:
· Getting Ready (IT focused)
· Engineering (Governance)
· Release (How to have a successful launch)
· Adopt (Get end users excited and ready)
It can all be downloaded here: https://sharepoint.microsoft.com/gearup/Pages/default.aspx
It also targets content based on role: Site Owner, Analyst, Business Owner, Architect, Developer and IT Professional/Administrator.
Internal Buzz Kit
The Buzz Kit is actually part of the Adopt piece of Gear Up. It is a package you can download that includes demo videos, e-mail scripts, scripted brownbag presentations, posters, training links, a guide on how to hold a training session, information about building online community and encouraging super users, training completion certificates, and guidance on how to run an 'internal buzz campaign'.
It can be found here: https://sharepoint.microsoft.com/gearup/Pages/General/BuzzKit.aspx
While the content is targeted at customers directly, this content can also be leveraged by Partners to assist in their implementations for customers after the solution is built.
