Why a PDF? What is wrong with compiled help? As stated at the MSDN blog, "searching a document this size takes time". Well yepp it does. PDF'll do that.

File is huge, a lot of missing links (probably was a bad export to pdf). Particulary I found this help of 19888 pages not very practical, very hard to search, and mediocre.

Thanks for the feedback.  I would like to follow up with you. Can you elaborate on what you think makes PDF valuable as a delivery mechanism?   How important is search, internal links (to other topics), external links (to MSDN library), and print quality? What granularity would work for you?  For example, should the managed reference (SDK) be in its own file (even though it could be thousands of pages)?   How do we handle links to topics that are not in the PDF? I'd like to hear your thoughts. Thanks, Eric (msft)
