New Storage Spaces Content Published to TechNet
Happy New Year Everyone!
I came across some great new content today on Storage Spaces that we just published to TechNet and thought it might be of interest, especially given the amount of questions I have had recently around designing for performance. Check them out, I’ve included a brief exec summary on each!
Storage Spaces Overview
Storage Spaces is a new virtualization capability in Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 which enables users to dramatically reduce the cost of highly available storage for virtualized or physical deployments, while also providing high resiliency and operational simplicity.
Storage spaces come with features that provide resiliency, scalability, high availability and ease of administrative operations.
Storage Spaces – Designing for Performance
With Storage Spaces, Windows Server 2012 provides the storage performance, flexibility, and scale required by today’s enterprise workloads. This paper focuses on the parameters that impact the performance of Storage Spaces and how these parameters can be optimized for specific workloads and enable Storage Spaces to achieve optimal performance.
This paper applies to the following operating systems:
- Windows Server 2012
- Windows 8
The suggested audience for this paper is:
- Storage Administrators
- Information Technology (IT) Professionals
Cheers all!
