Palm Releases Upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 for the Treo 750
Palm has just released an upgrade to turn the Treo 750 into a Windows Mobile 6 Professional device. They have also begun selling an unlocked version of the device.
For the Windows Mobile 6 the following new features will be available after the upgrade:
- Faster downloads with High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA)
- Update for loss of system sounds
- Improved calendar functionality
- Additional email support, with HTML and the capability to search messages stored on an Exchange server
- Windows Vista compatibility, with Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) syncing
- Better security, with the ability to wipe devices and SD cards clean remotely in case of loss or theft
- Internet Connection Sharing, allowing the phone to operate as a wireless modem for a laptop
- Access to documents stored on SharePoint servers
