Is a programming competition a sport?
David Smith a Microsoft Student Ambassador at Michigan State University asks on his blog whether or not a programming competition could be considered a sport or not. What do you think?

Absolutely not, unless your programming competition involves running around from one computer to another, and doing push ups and sits ups in between builds :)
A sport requires not only mental ability, but physical ability (a minimum, typing doesn't count) as well. So no, programming is not a sport, neither should poker, chess... be considered sports.
From what I heard, racing requires a great deal of physical ability to control the car, so I would consider racing a sport. - Anonymous

Quick answer: No.
Longer answer: Let me think about it for a second...no.
