MSDN Subscriber Downloads Database Update COMPLETE

The scheduled downtime for Subscriber Downloads for a database upgrade was completed this morning at 6AM PDT.

    Cool. Now how about adding vista sp1, xp sp3, windows home server to the msdn downloads. Been waiting for too long. Thanx

    Mark: The upgrade was in fact completed. How far into the process are you getting and what error are you receiving? A few of us had challenges getting in this morning, but if we went back to the Subscriptions Home Page or the Manage My Subscription Page and signed in (and then clicke the link to Subscriber Downloads) we got there on the 2nd try. I am not sure why it took the 2nd try, but that seems to be working. OR... are you getting the dreaded 11008 error in the Subscriber Downloads UI?

    I am still getting the 11008 error. I tried the "went back to the Subscriptions Home Page or the Manage My Subscription Page and signed in (and then clicke the link to Subscriber Downloads) " trick but it did not work for me...

    Matt - Thanks for the update. The 11008 error is not impacting all subscribers. We continue to work with the team that owns the code where that error is being generated from - and continue to apply pressure for them to find the root cause and fix it. Because it is not impacting all Subscribers, it is more elusive to track down. As I mentioned in my original post and welcome message, I am possibly more excited than any of you that the next version of the Subscriber Downloads and Product Key functionality will be on the same platform as the rest of the existing Subscriber Benefits Portal. This means that the code that it now causing the 11008 error codes and the 11083 error codes will be replaced, and Microsoft's responsibility for ensuring seamless access will be more centralized operationally, and should be much improved. I know this does not help right now, but we do share your pain and are working toward system-wide improvements. We are expecting to have this new functionality migrated in the first quarter of 2008.

    Feeling our pain, looking forward to unified platforms, escalating issues etc are all great but they don't solve the problem and Microsoft needs to solve this problem. I have been unable to access my product keys or downloads for more than a month and a half now. I have been in contact with the MSDN support center. They specialize in delaying tactics. Everything you mention they want screenshots for. The reference number they give you they cannot use to track the issue as it is "not accessible by their systems" and my favorite "well it works on our side must be something on your side." I cannot believe it has taken you guys so long to fix this. There must be something very seriously wrong or have you just lost the source code? My subscription expires at the end of October. If I don't renew then I will lose out on the renewal price. If I do renew I will be paying for a product I cannot use. What does Microsoft suggest I do?
