2013 Microsoft Unity Competition Results

Microsoft in conjunction with the New Zealand Game Developer Association (NZGDA), earlier this year ran a competition calling for submissions from budding developers to submit their Unity Apps to the Windows 8 or WIndows Phone 8 Store. 

As part of this, the NZGDA and Microsoft launched the following competition for developers.

The best Gaming App (that was published) to either the Windows 8 or Windows Phone 8 platform would receive the following prize: 

The best 5 apps would also have an opportunity to be showcased through our media channels.

In addtion to this local competition, Microsoft ran a Global Unity competition where entrants could take the same app and submit it to win a share of the $100,000 prize money.
 

 The shortlisted entries for 2013 were:

Split-Screen-Arena

Blocked A Game of Escape

Simpulls

 

 RESULTS:


 FIRST PLACE - Simpulls

 Congratulations to Simpulls for taking the top prize of 5K Cash, a Surface Pro + the Nokia Lumia 820.

 

 

 

 

RUNNERS UP - Split Screen Arena

  Congratulations to Split-Screen-Arena   for taking the 2nd prize of the Surface Pro + the Nokia Lumia 820.

 

 

 

The 10 judges were blown away by the functionality, UI and overall buzz of all the apps that were entered.
