Succeed on Purpose
Are you successful? Are you succeeding on purpose? Make sure you have a specialisation. Make sure you have a ‘success super power’ as \@docjamesw puts it. Don’t just ‘work hard’ or ‘impress your boss’. How to succeed. Businesses know there is shortage of skilled personnel. Employers understand that they need to invest in developing you, their staff. As an IT Professional who is constantly learning and upskilling you are an asset. You have more motivation, are more productive and bring more value to the company, your clients and the industry. And yourself. Start here. They say once you stop learning you grow old. So if you’re noticing that your once indestructible metabolism isn’t what it used to be… at least you can continue to upskill! On a more serious note, over 970 Kiwis use the hundreds of courses at Microsoft Virtual Academy to plan their success and make steps in a purposeful direction. Join them and the 800,000 users worldwide. The courses are delivered by Microsoft experts with new ones published weekly. Courses relevant to your career are available right now, with free videos, PDFs and self-assessments. Know this stuff: I’m running two types of one-day, free IT Camps. The Hybrid Cloud IT Camp shows you how to get the best of both worlds by taking advantage of external resources when it makes sense for your business. They'll be held in Auckland, Wellington and Hamilton with some dates in April and March. There’s also the Enterprise Device Infrastructure IT Camps. Make sure you can balance enabling devices with ensuring the security of corporate assets and data. Register now for Christchurch or Wellington in March. For any feedback on what you should be learning reach out to the NZ TechNet Team or me. Cheers,
