Redmond Developer News links to my new SharePoint Developer site

Michael Desmond of Redmond Developer News published an article linking to my new SharePoint Developer Introduction web site. The purpose of the site is to help .NET Developers who want to learn SharePoint development.

If you think learning SharePoint development isn't easy enough yet, please let me know. I would like to hear more ideas that Microsoft could do to make it easier.

    This site is great.  I hope more and more content gets added.  The organization, usability of the site is incredible.

    I am currently learning Sharepoint and the webcasts are great - just the right level for me. For someone wanting to learn all of this it is a painful process to download all of the bits. The problem I have with the site is that some of the downloads are for the whole series and not individual topics yet they are on each topic page with different titles. For example "Web Parts White Paper" is the same as "Event Handlers White Paper". This causes unnecessary downloads and would be better to have the common items at the upper level. The other recommendation would be to make the web casts downloadable directly from your site.  In order to get each one you have to drill down through several forms to get at them and you have to do this 10 times to get all topics.  The web casts also use a lot of shared content, but now I have 10 copies of this (ex: Engines folder) Also the event handler web cast only shows the first slide although the speaker talks as if the show was being displayed.  I downloaded the presentation separately and all of the slides are there so I can see them.

    Thanks for your response.  By shared content I mean the support files for the webcasts - images, javascript files, language files, css and other content that is downloaded along with the individual webcast content.  If you do a folder compare between 2 webcasts there are 130 files in common.  It's not a big deal since they are about 1.5 MB but over 10 downloads it adds up. I have been unable to get the import from spreadsheet function to work in labs 1 and 2 using the vpc suggested.  Is there something I need to install?
