What is Windows Server 2008 Foundation?

This week, Microsoft launched a new version of Windows Server 2008 that is designed to provide basic server functionality for small businesses with a maximum of 15 users. The launch of Windows Server 2008 Foundation helps serve Microsoft's goal to provide a Windows Server-based solution for every customer need, size and budget. We are pleased to say that the Windows Server Solutions Group at Microsoft (i.e. us, the folks who bring you Windows SBS, Windows EBS, and Windows Home Server) were key players in delivering this significant new server solution.

To help you understand how Windows Server 2008 Foundation differs from the other Windows Server 2008 editions, we just published the Windows Server 2008 Foundation Technical Library. The library includes the product overview, "Introduction to Windows Server 2008."
