Help! All of my reports fail with an authentication failure!
Have your Reporting Services 2005 reports started failing recently with the error message?
Logon failed. (rsLogonFailed)
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007052E)
Check your Unattended Execution Account (UEA). Is it a domain user?
If so, check to see if the domain user's password has changed. Has someone intentionally changed that domain user’s password? Or, do you have a password expire policy in your network?
I run into this issue about once every so many days because our password policy enforces a password change every so many days and I use my account as the UAE. Once you update the password (via the Reporting Services Configuration Manager), the login failure should disappear.

I am very glad I found this instruction. This is exactly the problem I had. I was going through all the permission settings and SQL accounts, to no avail. After I changed the UEA setting, everything is fine now. Thank you so much!Anonymous
