SQL Data Sync Preview October Service Update Is Now Live!

We have just released the October service update for SQL Data Sync Preview. In this update, users can now create multiple Sync Servers under a single Windows Azure subscription.  With this feature, users intending to create multiple sync groups with sync group hubs in different regions will enjoy performance improvement in data synchronization by provisioning the corresponding Sync Server in the same region where the hub is.

    What is the point of having Upgrade agent in the client if every time we need to manually upgrade and copy config files around?

    I'm using version 4.0.61.0, and my 'Upgrade Agent' button is still greyed out. Is this Normal?

    Justin,  Thanks for your feedback.  We are looking at better methods for a seamless upgrade process.  Typically, the upgrade process will retain the existing config file.  However, we still ask users to follow the procedures illustrated in the link above in order to ensure the config information is not lost during upgrade.

    JuneT,  In this service update, we have been concentrating on fixing performance & service reliability related defects.  These fixes are transparent to the users. Again, thanks for your interest in DSS.

    Anthony-F,  Agent 4.0.61.0 will expire after 10/31.  Hence, the Upgrade Agent is still grey out.  However, we would encourage to downdload and install the latest agent as soon as possible: www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    I was told the sync team was discontinued! Is there any 'future' in ussing this framework ? Are there any alternatives in the .net stack except for rolling your own solution using WCF or Websockets. I feel i'm reinventing the wheel trying to make a hmoebrewed sync solution. Thanks in advance
