Test Applications Running in 256MB With Preview of Windows Phone SDK

Windows PhoneA technical preview of Windows Phone SDK update gives you access to the 256MB emulator to let you determine how your apps install and run on new lower memory Windows Phone devices shown at Mobile World Congress 2012.

The SDK supports a new series of lower cost devices like the affordable Nokia Lumia 610. These phones will open the door to new price points and customer segments in several high growth markets.

The preview does not include a “go live” license so you can’t publish apps created with it yet. A final version of the SDK, complete with the go-live license, will be available in March.

Also announced at Mobile World Congress, a beta of the much-anticipated Skype app for Windows Phone. Get the beta here.
