eWeek Labs Praises Windows Vista’s UAC

eWeek Labs recently took some time to dig deeper into Windows Vista’s User Access Control (UAC), praising Microsoft for their dedication to securing Windows Vista. "With Vista's UAC, Microsoft has finally gotten serious about securing the Windows operating system by limiting a user's rights during day-to-day computer usage," Andrew Garcia from eWeek writes. Andrew also says that UAC "finally brings the Windows operating system up to speed with just about every other major operating system available today."

    I agree that Vistas new UAC will definately a big step forward for the average PC user, and thankfully has gotten better with each beta version. Ofcourse you could just use a limited user account on XP for that level of security when going online, but lets face it how many home users set up multiple user accounts and give themselves limited rights. Its a step in the right direction, at first it annoyed me but then I think of the time I will save not having to download multiple antispyware programs to remove the trash that has got on my inlaws PC and I realise its all for the best. Good Job.

    Please add the ability to selectively import and transfer photos from your digital camera. It is unnecessarily removed in Vista.
