Small Enterprise Topology

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

While the basic configuration is unchanged from the single-server topology (Speech Server and a Web server on the same computer), multiple clones are used to deploy a complex configuration that is capable of handling a large number of channels.

To run a small enterprise topology, your computers running Speech Server should be configured with the following minimum requirements:

  • Applications: 1 or 2
  • Channels: Up to 100
  • CPU: 64-bit two-way 2.4 GHz
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • Hard disk space (installation): 1.7 GB
  • Hard disk space (logging): 100 GB or additional RAID
  • Network: 1 GB

The following diagram shows a small enterprise topology that includes Speech Server scaled out onto three computers, a separate tuning and reporting server, and a separate operations server running Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM).
