  • To minimize disruptions of service, disconnect the computer from the production environment before installing Speech Server.
  • Do not enable the %ProgramFiles% and C:\inetpub\wwwroot folders, because this can result in an improper installation. For more information, see the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 documentation.
  • Installing Speech Server restarts the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service. For more information about the WMI service, see WMI Scripting Overview.
  • Speech Server sets permission levels on the computers where it is installed. When Speech Server is installed on a computer running Windows Server 2003, only administrators (not users or guests) are able to log on interactively. However, when Speech Server is installed on a computer running Windows XP or Windows Vista, users in both the Admin group and the Interactive Users group are allowed to log on interactively.
