Créer une collection de sites (Office SharePoint Server)

Mise à jour : 2008-07-31

A site collection is a hierarchy of sites. When a site collection is created, a top-level site is created within that site collection. The top-level site can contain one or more subsites.

You can create a site collection that is based on an existing Web application, or you can create a Web application. For information about how to create a Web application, see Créer ou étendre une application Web (Office SharePoint Server).

If your application is small, you should use a single site collection to avoid the overhead of managing multiple sites. However, for complex solutions, having multiple site collections makes it easier to organize the complex content within multiple sites.

At the site collection level, permissions and navigation are isolated in the following ways:

  • Subsites within a site collection can inherit permissions from the top-level site.

  • Site collections cannot inherit permissions from other site collections.

  • There is no built-in navigation from one site collection to another.

  • You should specify a secondary site collection administrator for the new site collection.

You must be a member of the Farm Administrators SharePoint group to complete this procedure.

Create a site collection

Use this procedure to create a site collection.

Create a site collection

  1. On the top navigation bar of the SharePoint Central Administration Web site, click Application Management.

  2. On the Application Management page, in the SharePoint Site Management section, click Create site collection.

  3. On the Create Site Collection page, in the Web Application section, if the Web application where you want to create the site collection is not selected, click Change Web Application on the Web Application menu, and then on the Select Web Application page, click the Web application where you want to create the site collection.

  4. In the Title and Description section, type the title and description for the site collection.

  5. In the Web Site Address section, under URL, select the path that you want to use for the site collection URL. For example, an included path such as /sites/ or the root directory /.

  6. If you select a wildcard inclusion path, such as /sites/, you must also type the site name that you want to use in the site's URL.

    NoteRemarque :

The paths available for the URL option are taken from the list of managed paths that have been defined as wildcard inclusions. For more information about managed paths, see Définir des chemins d’accès gérés.

  7. In the Template Selection section, from the Select a template list, select the template that you want to use for the top-level site in the site collection.

  8. In the Primary Site Collection Administrator section, type the user name (in the form DOMAIN\username) of the site collection administrator.

  9. In the Secondary Site Collection Administrator section, type the user name for the secondary administrator of the site collection.

  10. If you are using quotas to limit resource use for site collections, in the Quota Template section, click a template in the Select a quota template list.

  11. Click OK.

For information about how to perform this procedure by using the Stsadm command-line tool, see Createsite : opération Stsadm (Office SharePoint Server).
