Configuring an array of Forefront TMG servers

Updated: February 1, 2011

Applies To: Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG)

You can join a Forefront TMG server to a standalone array or to an enterprise array centrally managed by an Enterprise Management Server (EMS).

When joining Forefront TMG to a standalone array, new policies and configurations are updated from a single Forefront TMG server, which is defined as the array manager. If you require managing more than a single array, you can install an EMS in order to centrally manage all the arrays in your network. Note

You can only join or remove a server from a standalone array or enterprise array on the local server. This cannot be done remotely.
