Windows RT 8.1 in the Enterprise: Peripheral Devices

Applies To: Windows RT 8.1

Windows RT 8.1 provides support for a wide variety of peripheral devices through class drivers and standardized protocols.

Windows RT adopts a new model for supporting a large variety of peripherals out of the box by leveraging standardized protocols and class drivers, which eliminates the need for specific drivers for each peripheral device. Class drivers are included in the operating system to support most mouse, keyboard, printer, camera, scanner, smart card, Bluetooth, network, and storage devices, with a Windows RT certification process available to provide assurances that specific devices will work. See the Windows Compatibility Center for information about the devices that have been certified.
